Siva Shanmugam
25:58
do we need to do the baseline testing by Oct 8? Or schedule it before Oct 8
Danelle Fallert
26:09
Hi Ryan, I feel that it would be a huge amount of work for Student Services to handle all students who are not following the COVID protocol. Here at ELAC it would be overwhelming, this should be a joint effort between Student Services and Academic Affairs.
Justin Raines
26:09
What about the California Patient Bill of Rights? How do you legally get around legal precedent? By Law, you can not punish or discriminate against those who chose to refuse "life saving" treatment. I have not seen anyone address this issue.
Nelli Asatryan
26:41
Thank you Justin Raines for the question.
Jonathon Lee
26:59
Clear Pass is just the daily self-reporting, so it leaves room for doubt. Will there be a "green light" pass for students and personnel who are in compliance with the vaccination and testing procedures also?

Kaleab Gorfu

Thank you for listening to employee concerns regarding those who are working 100% online. I just heard Dr. Cornner stating that baseline testing can be differed, If I am fully vaccinated. Is there any other action expected of me?

Same. I also did not receive the daily reminder today. I used yesterday's link.
Dr. Ryan Cornner, Vice Chancellor, Educational Programs and Institutional Effectiveness
29:50
@Jonathon, since the deadlines are not past yet, this is not a an issue, however, there is color coding that will be in effect once the deadline is past to show compliance
VoraPong Nimnual
29:58
I did not received a daily reminder today either.
Neely Miller
30:03
Responding to comment above - The Patient Bill of Rights only applies to medical care, not the workplace. That point is moot.
Dr. Ryan Cornner, Vice Chancellor, Educational Programs and Institutional Effectiveness
30:04
@kristina, if you are working remote, the distance should not be an issue and you can request delay to testing until onsite. If you are already onsite we have testing availablle

Science has revealed that the vaccinated people carry 250x’s more of the viral load in their nostrils but since they took the vaccine, they will show less visible symptoms of the virus. The unvaccinated people will show symptoms that can easily be identified using the self-screening questionnaires. Shouldn’t this imply the vaccinated people are the ones that should be getting the weekly testing since they pose more of danger to unknowingly spreading the virus?OSHA states using the self-screening questions, there’s nothing in their documents about mandatory testing. Does this mean LACCD decided on it’s own to require the weekly testing?

Each of the colleges continue to work with the County Health Department and various healthcare providers to host vaccination clinics. Each college is doing this individually and the schedules vary for C-19 vaccinations. This is separate and different from the TESTING that is being doing via t he District program. Check with your college, VP of Administrative Services or your college website for information about vaccination clinics.

Is there a plan to balance the online services to students versus the on campus services to students? With all the staff on campus, tied up with campus work, it seems the district may be ignoring the larger body of online students who need help, but are finding few online staff available to meet their needs. (Some Faculty is having trouble being on campus but conducting an online event, but having walk in students waiting for that online event to end before getting access to a counselor)

Ms. Carmen Lidz
46:36
@ Narine Navasardyan - If the second dose is scheduled after Oct 18, submit your vaccination proof for the first dose - it will at least show that you are in progress.
Tamar Khajadourian
46:46
Religious creed includes what we do with our bodies. States cannot create laws that conflicts with the U.S. Constitution. Covid tests can be claimed under a religious exemption. Institutions do not have the authority to “pick and choose” which actions and behaviors are abhorrent to our religious beliefs.

Narine Navasardyan

47:36
It is well established that vaccinated individuals can contract and spread COVID-19. Why is the District only requiring weekly testing for employees who have religious or medical exemptions?
Ms. Carmen Lidz

Dr. Burkhalter, Biocept and Cleared4 will not use the data for any other purposes outside of LACCD
Yolanda Lira
48:11
@ruebensmith I place work order yesterday because 2 bthrms venting system is off or not working. Now the previous system would give us a notice when orders were completely or cancelled. Does the new system send out completion notices? If not why?

Nelli Asatryan

48:59
The District has held numerous trainings, discussions and events on the topic of racial equity in education. According to the LA County Department of Public Health, these are the current vaccination rates for county residents in our primary age group of 18-29 years old. Asian: 83%, White: 67%, Latino: 53%, Black/African American: 38%. The Board’s policy would currently exclude half of Latino and nearly two-thirds of Black youth. Is the District concerned that this policy may systematically exclude many students from our campuses? If so, what is the plan to provide access?
Justin Raines
49:03
Vaccinated folks are still spreading Covid, so why not test EVERYONE so that unvaccinated can not be blamed for spikes.

Cleared4work requires a cellphone number to create an account. There are some Faculty, students, and staff who do not have a cellphone. How do they create an account?
Dr. Ryan Cornner, Vice Chancellor, Educational Programs and Institutional Effectiveness

@alyshia, we use the CDC and LA County Department of public Health definition of “fully vaccinated” which does not currently require boosters. We will continue to monitor

Grace Chee AFT1521
51:06
@Kristina, I have your question
Ms. Carmen Lidz
51:10
@ Adrian Brown - @Cleared4work does not require a cell phone to set-up an account. It requires an email or a phone number for contact - an email account is sufficient if you don’t have a phone number.

I won't speak to any "experimental gene therapy" claims but the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is not an mRNA vaccine, it is an andenovector vaccine, and the Novavax vaccine in development is also not mRNA.

Good Afternoon, while I appreciate the information being provided today, I am concerned that a lot of the questions being posed today are faculty driven. As previously stated by the AFT1521A Staff Guild, there are numerous concerns from the staff side not being addressed and we would appreciate additional townhalls to address specific classified concerns. A formal requests for these additional townhall will be forthcoming. Thank you.

Our students need to have a system in place to serve them Virtually. Many students have addressed that they are not coming to campus because they have not been able to reach the college both on phone and online. We need to have some type of hybrid services to reach the students that want to come to our colleges.

With Long Haul covid affecting students and staff, and the Flu possibly spiking late this year and in the winter, it may be the safest to schedule next semester with 75% online and 25% in person; What evidence for a demand in on-person services is prompting a 50-50 modality in the Spring? Especially since Feb is usually the highest month for Flu reports, thus showing that Spring will still be high risk?
