I have several students that have disappeared from my Canvas roster, but are still enrolled in that class according to the SIS. When I contacted those students, they said they had dropped the class in SIS. What is going on?
David Daniel
12:03
Are universities going to accept a Pass instead of a grade?
Rocio Rubalcava
12:25
Kee, EW does not count as one attempt.
Corinna Jobe
12:27
Same here— they’re not in Canvas but are still on roster in SIS
Laurel Paley
12:33
ChromeBooks don’t run Adobe software and many digital art students are stuck at home unable to do any projects at all. (All they have is at home is their phones, and the ChromeBooks will not cut it.) We were hoping that we might be able to get higher end laptops for them. Is that at all possible?
Kee Lam
13:09
Same here— they’re not in Canvas but are still "enrolled" on roster in SIS
Rocio Rubalcava
13:39
David, CSUs will accept PNP grading but UCs have indicated some limitations especially in the major. We recommend students talk to a counselor before they request PNP grading.
David Daniel
14:20
Thank you, Rocio.
Laurel Paley
14:47
What, again, is the deadline for students to request Pass/Not Pass?

Laurel Paley
17:06
Today I have been having a lot of problems with both Canvas AND Zoom. While in class. (This Zoom meeting seems to be working a lot better than my Zoom meeting with my students.)
Rocio Rubalcava

Drop RosterWithdrawn students are included in the list of Enrolled students and are identifiable on the drop roster. If a student withdrew with default grade of “W”, a “Withdrawn from Class” status is displayed. However, a student withdrawn with a default “EW” grade has a “Dropped (was enrolled)” status.Class RosterWithdrawn students are included in the selectable “Enrolled” students list. If a student withdrew with default grade of “W” a status note will display “Withdrawn”. However, a student withdrawn with a default “EW” grade has a blank status note and are not identifiable on the class roster. Faculty would have to refer to the drop rosters or maintain a separate list of withdrawn students. This is the functionality that IT is investigating for correction.
Rocio Rubalcava
18:03
I'll also share this Drop Roster info in an email so you understand how to see the students that dropped with EW. I have some nice screenshots that help.
Corinna Jobe
18:29
Thank you for that! It was very mysterious!
Kee Lam
19:07
Thank you for clarification, Rocio!

President Gallagher, is it possible for our SIS system to stop logging us out so quickly? When SIS logs us out, we get automatically get logged out of Canvas. Impossible to author lessons in Canvas without constantly being knocked off of Canvas. Help!
Corinna Jobe
19:57
Close the SIS window and keep only Canvas open. Then it shouldn’t log you out
