Has the ventilation has been changed for the Student Services Building?
Dr. Seher Awan (she, her, hers)
48:46
The air filters have already been replaced and the air intake has already been adjusted to comply with the district guidelines
Dr. Erika Miller
49:11
Have new HVAC systems been installed?
Dr. Seher Awan (she, her, hers)
49:35
new HVAC was not a requirement or discussion. It was air vents and the percentage of air intake
Dr. Seher Awan (she, her, hers)
49:46
were discussed as requirements and completed
Kim McBride
50:08
The heat and the air didn't work before Covid. We were told for years. The HVAC is an issue and a reason we don't trust.
Dr. Erika Miller
50:19
Exactly Kim.
Roxanna Sanchez

No we believe….BUT the vaccines are not 100% and there has been break-through cases. Vaccine are not mandated at work even if they were YOU can get out of vaccine due to medical reasons and religious reasons. Working in an office were you are not six feet apart …and you can come into contact with someone with cover…is terrifying
Nhon Quach
52:44
So what will happen on June 15?
Perry Jhang
54:46
Dear Chancellor, our community has seen a rise in racial tension and I am afraid that we might see that tension on our campuses once the students return to campus. From my previous experience serving as a panelist for the California Attorney General's commission on hate crimes and working with the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations, racial relations programs help reduce racial tensions. I am just wondering if there is a district-wide plan to start a committee to discuss racial relations and potentially develop programs to improve racial relations.
Sandra Lee
56:05
The current HVAC systems were a part of the most recent WEC arbitration on May 5th in Superior Court
Kim McBride
56:11
Shall I assume since the information wasn't within a document then it's okay to ignore a human and humane needs and spoke concerned? The Student Services Buildings were so hot we couldn't breathe. Now, we can fix a health issue, but it's being ignored and dismissed.
Kim McBride
56:39
*spoken concerns.
Roxanna Sanchez
57:35
However would it not be equitable and empathic to allow a slow gradual return. Or June 15th is the magical mythical date there is Nothing to fear and no covid?
Perry Jhang
01:03:18
Thank you, Chancellor.
MOORECB@laccd.edu
01:03:32
Thank you Chancellor!
Kim McBride
01:08:00
I would like to revisit the HVAC issue at some point especially since we've worked in conditions were We Could Not Breathe. We would like the same consideration to breathe freely.
Dr. Seher Awan (she, her, hers)
01:08:26
Kim, please send me an email about this and I can provide you specific updates to the SSB's HVAC
Dr. Erum Syed
01:09:42
Thank you for your time and understandings, Dr. / Chancellor!!
Kim McBride
01:09:55
Sure, I believe this is a Student Services Building issue. Can you please open the meeting up to all concerned faculty and staff and send us an invite?
Dr. Seher Awan (she, her, hers)
01:10:31
I can provide the updates here and we can chat as well, but if you can give me some more info, I can prepare so that I have some facts and data to provide. Thank you :)
Kim McBride
01:11:32
Absolutely :)
Sandra Lee
01:11:51
@Dr. Awan--given the WEC arbitration ruling--please also include me as well on the facts and data that you plan to provide. Thanks.
Dr. Seher Awan (she, her, hers)
01:12:04
Will do, we will discuss here, but i will get some information together
Sandra Lee
01:12:43
I'd prefer the facts and data in writing if you are amenable to this request.
LaTanya Drake
01:14:09
Yes, and to that point directing EVERYONE to come bacc at the same time is where some of us are having a challenge
Rahmani Byley
01:14:20
I think there will hesitancy for staff, students and instructors regardless of when we return at least at first.
