I believe there should be more support to international students. To me you are happy to take the money (for a full time student they owe $4300) but then the college kind of leaves us to fend for ourselve, even though we are away from our homes. International students are only allowed to work at the college as conditions of visa yet I can count on one hand how many of us get jobs. I think there is a misconception that they must have a lot of money to come here yet the reality is their families have made a lot of sacrifices for their kids to come here. We are trying to better ourselves like everyone else. I would like the college to show more support as a lot of them need work to pay rent and living expenses. And the support from the international student office has been lacking on their support during the COVID 19. I feel like they could have done more especially when we are away from our homes. I am disappointed with the International Student Office and the way LACC treat international students.

For our noncredit adult learners and all students I have the opportunity to help on our campus I will advised them not to shy away from uncomfortable conversations and situations, to take a stand for what they believe in, and to listen, even to those who they don’t agree with.

We need to proactively recruit African-American candidates for faculty positions. That could be done through targeted advertising.

hire the student workers for a full time job before trying to look elsewhere. my student workers are genius but they never get the chance to get hired. taking a test for an opportunity needs to stop because that doest determine if your capable or not. your skills and common sense does

I visit title one schools and invite children to participate in my program the City of Angels Ballet. We offer free professional ballet classes to youth from these neighborhoods, after school. It’s our 28th year. Our students finish high school and the majority go on to college. We have worked with over 30,000 children from LAUSD. Last spring President Gallagher allowed us to hold our classes on campus. Please check us out. We are very excited to be involved with LACC. cityofangelsballet.com
